The image of earth is generated using the program “Xplanet" version 0.95a”
It is updated every five minutes using cloud image that is updated (hopefully) every three hours.
The circles represent recent earthquakes which have occured during the last week or so which is downloaded once an hour from the USGS. The diameter of the circles is representative of the strength of the earthquake.
