Choosing the version right for your needs

back to Index

The problem with having multiple versions is that you need to choose. Technology should never get in the way of achieving your teaching goals. This page is intended to help you make the right choice to meet your needs.

I don't have access to a server.

You should link directly to the page. The URL is http://www.geosci.ipfw.edu/gildner/RaupApplet/Raup.html.

I have access to a server and want to host it myself.

You should download the files. The next question, though, is whether you want them as you see them here, or you want to customize the text or layout of the page. If you wish to customize the layout, you'll need to modify the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) file RaupStyle.css.

I want to use them as they are.

Download this file. It is a zipped archive of all the files you need, with the correct directory structure. Download and unzip. (You can modify the text as needed, but if you wish to make extensive changes, I recommend the next option.)

I want to change the text - a lot.

Download this file. It is a stripped-down version of the other file, as you see here. The directory structure is correct. Download, unzip, and modify.

I am using a SCORM-compliant LMS (e.g., Blackboard), and don't want to mess with the details.

Download this file. DO NOT UNZIP. Import directly into your LMS as a SCO that is NOT gradable.
