25-Amphibolite

A metamorphic rock that may have originated as a basalt lava flow. Boulder consists mainly of the black mineral hornblende (an amphibole), with white quartz-feldspar veinlets. The veinlets are somewhat younger than the rest of the rock, having filled in fractures in the amphibolite.
