22-Migmatite
A rock that almost melted. Migmatites are intermediate between metamorphic rocks and igneous rocks.
This migmatite shows irregular banding and much recrystallization, typical of metamorphic gneisses
that have taken on igneous character through partial melting. Contains quartz (clear),
orthoclase feldspar (pink), hornblende (black), and minor muscovite (light) and biotite (dark) micas.
